I really think you need to insist your Dr. give you a referral to a Dietician that knows your medical history and any restrictions your may have. Best of luck to you.

Chobani nonfat plain Greek yogurt has only 100 calories for 6 oz and lots of good protein. (And obviously no fat). I love it. Sometimes I'll just get a random craving, open the fridge and eat a couple spoonfuls of chobani. So filling and good.
Almond butter is delicious too and so much better than peanut butter !

Thank you for the great tips. The only thing is I have to really watch out for salt and I try an eat very little pork. Until my body healing take place & manifest. You gave me some good meals and allow me to say I appreciate this. Last night I slept great was was tired & hurting this morn so I took my meds & went back to be & slept until almost GB & many thanks for all your support.
Thank You Coannie: That sounds great. I just went today & brought the individual one server Blender. I looked at some Greek yogurt yesterday & it seemed to have a lot of cal. I didn't look to see if there was a light yogurt. I got another brand 7 it was a lite one. But I got some fresh bananas. I like your late night snack. I may try it tonight. I really appreciate all the help I can get. Tomorrow & Friday. It's good I do aqua therphy tomorrow & Fri. Praying and believing this all will work THANKSSSSSSSS

I love to eat (drink, slurp, whatever you call it!) shakes that I make out of greek yogurt, fruit and chia seeds. One little shake has 26 grams of protein. The "recipe" is:
1 c. Greek Yogurt (plain, unsweetened, low-fat) 1 c. frozen fruit (I love the tropical fruit blend you can get at WalMart) 1 T Stevia 2 T chia seeds (I get them delivered from Walmart - Bob's Red Mill Chia) water to thin it out, if needed
Whirl in a blender or magic bullet until smooth and drink up. It tastes great and will give you a good dose of protein.
Also, a good snack before bed is some greek yogurt with fruit. Last night I had a 1/2 c greek yogurt, 3 cut up strawberries and a tablespoon of chocolate syrup. It was delicious and I slept great.

You say you wake up hungry....low blood glucose can wake you with hunger...have you been tested with an A1C test for diabetes or do you have diabetes? In order to have healthy blood glucose it is important to moniter protein....has your doctor recommended 5 1/2 to 6 ounces of lean meat, fish or poultry, eggs, nuts or seeds "each day"?
Pumpkin seeds are especially high in protein, low in calories and fat. Sunflower seeds have protein & almonds are particularly high in protein. 1 Ounce of Pepitas has 8 Grams of protein making them a smart snack or salad addition. Pepitas are already shelled pumpkin seeds. Protein comes from chicken, turkey, beans, peas, fish, cottage cheese, and peanut butter, parm cheese, flaxseeds, chia seeds, a pork chop, beef jerky, barley and oatmeal (Barley has soluble and insoluble fiber and has more fiber than oatmeal) Pistachios, lamb, lentils, lobster, crab and tuna too.......Mozzerella, parm and romano...yogurt
Make chicken and turkey baked or grilled without the skin, beef with the fat trimmed off and fish.
Quinoa and kasha which are extremely high in protein.
Always eat a carb and a protein 2 hours before bedtime to balance your blood sugar, something like one bread stick with seasame seeds and 1 ounce of low fat cheese, oatmeal & blueberries, cottage cheese and matchstick carrots and a bread stick. This should help you have a more restful sleep.
A healthy diet should include 2 to 3 servings of lean protein each day

Thank you for the info. you listed a few veg. I do like and eat. The protein bars are nasty. I haven't found a good tasting one yet. I had forgot about Kashi cereal. I tried one a few years ago. Once again thank you & peace & blessings to you also.

Most people don't realize that veggies have protein. So, you might try eating more of these veggies to help increase your intake of protein.
asparagus, sweet corn, broccoli, artichokes, water cress and cauliflower are a few you could eat.
You might also consider switching over to a high protein cereal like Kashi Go Lean or even Fiber One. Kashi cereals have anywhere from 5g to 8g of protein per serving. You might try a protein bar for snacks like Clif Bars. You will have to read the nutrition labels. Some of those protein bars can be high in calorie and sugar. I do like Clif bars, but another brand is called KIND. they're a little pricey, but very tasty.
Hi Anne thanks for responding. I'm not looking for advise in ref. to the hypertension. What I'm trying to find out is different foods that are high in protein other than chicken, turkey, peanuts, beans, and eggs. I don't eat beans, I can only have 2 or 3 eggs per week and peanuts without salt i don't want. All I want are foods that are high in protein.

A little over a month ago I noticed & felt extra weight. Some of my clothes no longer fit or were tight. Because there have been a problem that developed. lots of swelling in my feet, lower legs and hands. My doctor claimed most of it was fluid & I told her not so because I have gained 20 plus lbs back. There have been lots of stress since Oct. 6th, 2012 in my life. There are health issues now I not to have any salt.I'm not hungry in the AM but around 5PM I start to get hungry and it goes all night if I can't sleep. Now most of the time I do fall of to sleep but if I wake up at 3 or 4 o'clock I'm hungry. Last week one of the Sparky's told me to increase my protein in my dinner and my last snack before bed. I will have a Special K protein shake & 1/2 chicken salad sandwich or something along that line & I still be starving if I wake up doing the night. Please help me because I want this 20lbs plus 50 more off. It's affecting my health now more.. Please I need to know how much protein one need in a day. The Dr said I have got to get this Hypertension under control because it's now having an affect on my kidneys.. I eat salads, fresh vegetables, natural fruits so what am I missing. I trying to eat early in the morn so I can take my meds early rather than at 4 or 5 PM. Please help me. I have also started doing aqua fitness 3 times a week for 45 mins each day I go. Please help me because I want this wait off.
