What a great idea! We have planted trees at all of the houses where we have lived.

We have planted 23 trees here on our acre, in the past 31 yrs., all kinds of trees, one cedar came from a seedling our son brought home from kindergarten in a milk carton, the tree is full grown now. We will plant a tree as soon as we move to another house we bought in Texas, even though there are several shade trees there already.
That's awesome! I have about 9 spoiled apples in our spare room that I intend to plant in the back yard. Maybe my great-grand kids can enjoy them some day!

I love the outdoors whether it's hiking, camping, swimming, or out walking the dog. A few years ago instead of sweeping up the seeds from the maple trees and throwing them away I put some in small plastic bags and take them along while out walking the dog. I tossed them along the way where I would like to see maple trees growing and now there are many growing. I also planted 22 trees last fall and could only find 9 of them. It's best to wait until the trees are about 3 feet tall before replanting. Cities should start a re-foresting program not to just help the environment but it would save on maintenance cost as well.
