Everyone in our little gated community who will be home for Christmas will meet in the courtyard at 11am for champagne (if weather bad, in my house) Then it's just him and me, a haunch of venison and some good chocolate

My daughter will be home from college and the four of us (son and husband) will spend the day by the fire and enjoying being together!!

I live in South Africa where it is hot at Christmas. We have no family in the city I live in and we are this year not visiting them (they all live by the sea and so reluctant to travel here). We are organising a bring along picnic in the local park for Christmas lunch which anyone who is without family can come to....
My ex-husband has my son Christmas Eve so I don't get to see him until Christmas morning. We'll open presents and I'll make dinner. Maybe my daughter and her family will stop by for presents and eat with us. Other than that, no great plans for the day.

Yes, will be with my family at one of my brothers' home. Our get togethers have not been easy since one brother and his wife became vegans some years ago. We thought it was difficult when they were vegetarians, but that was easy, looking back. As I said, it is not easy, but it is possible, especially if you don't make the whole get together about food.
Looks like I am going to my parents' to spend the day with them and my siblings and my boyfriend is going to his parents' to spend it with them and his siblings. I am fed up with driving back and forth and eating 2 meals and since my family feels that it would be "too difficult" to host everyone at my house and his family doesn't want to have their first time meeting my family, plus having to "always" cater to my mother's wishes they don't want to come out to my parents' house... so BAH!!! Hopefully my boyfriend and I will be able to take the morning and cuddle together and open our gifts before we go our mutual ways.

I found a nice restaurant to make reservations for Christmas dinner. Will drive around after dark and enjoy the pretty lights. Very casual.

I think the Grinch came to our house this month. Not sure what to do about the problem since it mainly involves the rest of the family...!?!
I go to my mom and dad's on Christmas Eve for a soup supper with my brother, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and their kids. Then on Christmas day, I go to mom and dad's, open presents, and spend the day with them. We usually have a small meal but nothing too fancy.

Christmas Eve with our son and Christmas Day with our son's in-laws. On the Eve we have an ugly Christmas paper contest which is hilarious. On the day it's Christmas dinner with the in-laws.
I also get phone calls from my other children around the country...Missouri, Maine, and MA.

We will celebrate Christmas with our son and his family. Gifts will be sparse from us due to an embarrassing lack of funds so a pass to the movies will probably be all we can do, but they will be accompanied with huge amounts of love and thanksgiving.
I wish that we could be with our kids in Seattle, but maybe next year, God willin' and the creek don't rise.

attend the children's Christmas program at church this evening. Spend time with my family and the in-laws. Also, watching Christmas movies with my wife and children. Probably will make a few treats next week. Blessings!

I wish I knew what I'll be doing on Christmas Day! Christmas Eve is all planned out, but the day of Christmas is still up in the air. I think I will be happy to just stay home on Christmas Day and make a really nice dinner.

That sounds wonderful EOWYN2424!
We are having our family Christmas on Saturday. My best friend, who we all consider family, is having it at her place. Because of health issues, it's too hard for my mom or I to have it at either of our houses. Also joining us are my best friend's mom, my sister, and another mutual friend. This will be our 2nd Christmas without my dad, who passed away in August 2011, so it will be bittersweet also.
I have chemo on Tuesday so I can't do a lot this week, but I planned ahead and got as much done ahead of time as I could. I will be making a simple candy recipe and making a low fat potato salad.
I am also looking forward to church on Christmas Eve; we have a candle light service that is just beautiful.

Thus far, our plans are just for the two of us (hubby & I). I did offer to share the meal with our neighbour, as his wife has been in the hospital for a couple months, and they are not quite sure if she'll be out for Christmas (either permanently or just for the day).
However, his two daughters will be arriving to spend the day with him, so he declined the offer.

Enjoy the party and I'm sure you'll look beautiful. It will be just my immediate family (kids, husband and I) as my parents don't celebrate holidays and my in-laws live approx. 4 hours away.
We always start with reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" on Christmas Eve and I let hte kids open their stocking stuffers. I've tried to get more to go in them this year and actually wrapped them as they seem to love that.
I'm carolling for the big Christmas Church party this Tuesday (the 18th). I plan to wear a flower print skirt with long white blouse to hide my belly roll. I will post a blog with pics later on Tuesday itself before or after the party, depending. I will probably also wear a shawl to hide my dialysis scars on my left arm for decency's sake.
I will probably also go for church service on Christmas morning itself. I will also have a smaller Christmas party with my Bible Study group on the 22nd. I will be bringing mashed potatoes, coleslaw and chicken rendang. I will be making the mashed potatoes and the coleslaw from scratch with my own recipes while my Mom will be contributing her famous chicken rendang.
Don't worry, I will post all the details in my upcoming blogs later! Merry Christmas!!!
