Thank you. My trainer didn't use the word pass or fail. That was my own typical self-assessment at the time. He just said we have a lot of work to do. My program seems to change every three weeks or so, and I do notice a great difference in strength, and flexibility.
Thank you for all the wonderful messages of support. They are very much appreciated! lisa
Can't think of a better investment. BTW, you can't *fail* a fitness assessment. It's just a benchmark against which you and the trainer measure your progress. Make sure you repeat it every 4 to 6 weeks and I'm sure you will be amazed by your progress.

I promised myself when I reached the weight of 150lbs I would join a gym and work with a personal trainer, and learn how to use the gym correctly to avoid any future injuries that would end up derailing my efforts. I didn't actually think I would get to 150 lbs before going off my diet, so it was sort of an empty promise. Well, I surprised myself, and was good on my promise. The gym, with all those incredibly fit people, is wayyyyyy out of my comfort zone, but I'm there three times a week getting back into shape. Baby steps. My flexibility and strength are improving each week. I'm learning correct form and technique. The cost of the personal trainer is also wayyyy out of my comfort zone, but for once I'm doing something that benefits my health and not harms it. The money I'm saving from not going out to eat two or three times a week, and the savings from no junk food in the grocery bill probably covers the cost of the trainer. My woo hoo moment came the first day at the gym for the overall mobility assessment test. I failed. It was the best dose of reality and pushed me to commit to healing my body. I've since lost a few more pounds, a few more inches, but best of all I've gained flexibility, strength, and CONFIDENCE to walk through those gym doors!
