I have hit the 102 mile mark in my walking miles today since starting 1/17/11, a little less than 3 months ago, however still have not reached my goal of loosing 7 lbs. (My goal is a minimum of 10 mi. weekly) I estimate I am loosing approximately an average of 1 lb. a month. My only benefit so far is that I love the outdoors, love peanut butter, and hope I will have a lower cholesterol count on my next physician's visit. It helps to have more than 1 goal so that you are not totally discouraged if 1 goal is not met.
