A typical goal is 10,000 steps per day. This is not quite a scary as it sounds, as people generally cover 5,000 steps in their normal daily life, so you only need an extra 5000 (whether through deliberate exerise, or just adding a little bit extra to normal activities eg. parking on the far side of the lot).
. I have a pedometer but have not been walking lately and want to get back into it. What is a good starting goal? How many minutes equals 1000 steps? Also, I want to buy a new pedometer. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.
