To Heather/Dragonchilde, and anyone else who's curious, I just heard a piece on the radio a couple of days ago about "secret" or hidden menus. Apparently more and more restaurants, both chains and independent, are implementing these. It supposedly attracts customers who like to feel that they have a special knowledge that others don't and creates a bond between the restaurant and the customer. Here's the link to the news story:

My question is why are they hiding it? Why not just add these to the menu and advertise it?

I wanted to share this link with you guys. Panera Bread has a "hidden menu" of protein rich menu items without the starchy carbs. I haven't tried it yet, but my coworker has and she was happy with what she got. I'm especially excited about the breakfasts!
