Congratulations. I am so happy for you. I like to hear when people loose so much weight and how they did it. I weighed over 300lbs. when I started. still a ways to go. But when I hear about other people loosing it encourages me. emoticon

Great work, I wish I could do as well, I keep getting sidetracked, how did you stay focused and motivated to lose all that weight? I can't seem to get the hang of it. Any suggestions are welcome.
Keep on working.

Being down 126 from my start weight, feeling better and looking better, I know firsthand the work that goes into losing 100 pounds. But I also know the rewards that come from feeling good and strong.

incredible! i started out at 300, too, and have lost 50 or 60 pounds total. You look GREAT, and I know you must feel great! I, too, have been 'cured' of depression by exercise-- it's a real mood boost in my day, and if I'm ever feeling down I try to get my heart rate way up there for a long time, and it ALWAYS works. it's hard to feel sad when you're a WARRIOR! I am so proud of you and I hope you celebrate your hard work and success!!!

You are doing great! Keep up the great work. It's amazing what can happen when you find a site like this. Also, glad you are able to not be on meds for depression anymore. That is wonderful.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful replies.

I decided to go shopping last night and buy a few articles of clothing. To my surprise, I was able to fit into a sz 12! What a great feeling it is. I just can't get over it. And even though I'm not at my goal weight, being this size again (after 6 looong years) makes me very happy.

You all are the greatest. Thanks for all the support!

Thank you guys so much. I still have some more weight to lose, but I am looking forward to it. It may be a little more challenging now.

This site really turned my life around. Not only has it taught me how to be aware of what I'm eating (and the weight-loss of course) it has helped me so much more. My children are happier now that Mommy feels better. My house is cleaned on a daily basis. lol - And my attitude is positive and happier now than it EVER was before. That's why I said that exercise is my medicine now. I was diagnosed with severe depression and (before spark) was on depression meds for over 6 years! But with the help of spark people (and the wonderful people on here) that person is far gone. And I never want to be that way again. Spark people has truly been a lifesaver, not just for me but my family as well. =)

When I first started on sparkpeople back in April, I thought to myself, this is going to be hard! Well it has been. The last 6 months have been incredibly challenging and I have been through a lot. I weighed 300 pounds when I first started out with my weight-loss journey. And today I weighed in at 198 pounds! I have lost 102 pounds, and it took about 7 months to lose it. I almost can't believe it. I was baffled when I looked down at a number that was out of the 200's. I have been waiting for this for a long time. I started out in a very tight XXXL/sz 26 BUT today I put on a sz 14! I am still in shock! If it wasn't for finding sparkpeople back in April, I don't know where I'd be. Thank you so much sparkpeople. I can't say enough positive things about this site. Trust me, if I can lose weight, ANYONE CAN with this site. I used to be addicted to chocolate and fast food, not anymore! The other great thing is, I am off all my depression meds! Exercise is my "medicine" now. Ok, I'm done now, just wanted to share my news. =)
