Ohhhh I know how you feel !! I also have a hard time doing the right thing and then feel guilt for them. but i HAVE learned not to beat myself up like I use to. I (and you) are human. We have to accept this is not easy but worth it, than keep at it ( ups and downs). We will do it. Slowly, One step at a time.
You never fail until you stop trying! Baby steps, someone previously recommended a dietitian that would set you up with some of your favorite foods portion controlled which is good advice.
Baby steps, remove one thing from your usual food during the day (like sweets) or cut down on sweets until you can remove them but you don't really have to remove them permanently just use portion control.
I'm no expert by any means but I'm using portion control and it is hard but I am worth it and you are worth it!
Take heart, LILIABUG... if this were easy, there would be no Sparkpeople. And it takes a while to get acquainted with all of the site, too - give yourself plenty of time for that. I'd say from my own experience (and I've been here under several names) that it's a good idea to use the nutrition tracker first, just to make sure you're staying within the range you need for weight loss.
Gee, I look far from perfect when I look in the mirror, and I'm below my goal weight. Don't judge yourself according to the media images that bombard us every day; it's an easy trap to fall into. Concentrate only on today and you'll find that today turns into MANY tomorrows...and they can be very good ones, too! One day at a time - it's all we have, but it's a powerful little chunk of our lives.
why wait for tomorrow. Today is better. Just do it and tomorrow do it again

Good for you! And please don't be hard on yourself, reaching out like you just did is a huge step in the right direction. Maybe there have been more 'wins' than you know: they don't always have to look like a diet or number on the scale. A little self honesty is a big win as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for inspiring us all.

Make an appt. with a real, live, dietitian, who sees you, talks to you, gets to know you, and you work together to figure out menus made up of foods you actually enjoy, just portion controlled, and not "diet" foods. If that sounds too involved, sometimes you have to admit you really don't want to do it yet, period, and just put dieting out of your mind, because the prospect of deprivation is scaring you already.............

I've gotten myself into this rut where I keep telling myself "tomorrow, I will do this or tomorrow, I will do that" whether it's eating better, working out more, or whatever. I've been a part of SP for a few weeks now. I haven't been here everyday like I would like, I haven't used this site like I need to yet. Sure, I've read some posts, been inspired by other's success but I haven't really whole heartedly joined and started giving it my best, I've been telling myself tomorrow, I will do this. I took a long hard look at myself, naked, in a full length mirror and cried. I am out of tomorrows. This needs to begin today, this needs to stick with me today. I have to control the temptations, I have to be strong for myself, I have to do this. I am out of tomorrows.
