Way to get back on track! You are recognizing what you need to do before things get out of hand. That's a huge amount of progress. Well done! I'm actually in the same boat. My weight has crept up 4 pounds over the summer, mostly from too many days of indulging in french fries and lack of proper planning on my part, but I'm back, too, and won't let a little bump in the road derail me! I can't work out right now because I hurt my back, which is getting better, but I have to take it easy for a week or so. Thus, I will keep watch on the calories and make great choices so that I don't gain any more -- and get back to Sparking!
Its happened to me countless times, and probably to many others. Don't let it get you down, just get on track again.

Thanks. It seems like it should be easier this time, but it's so much more difficult. getting back into walking daily, my dog just looks at me like "are we going now?" and I just keep thinking,"oh it's so hot and I'm so tired - maybe later.,..." And don't even think about from 7pm on, that's my feeding time, not just dinner, but from 7 to 11 pm ....I need to duct tape my mouth closed.
Just keep sparking and regroup. I fell off the wagon for a year, at least. Every day I came to the website and logged in though until I was ready to commit again. I'm back full force now!

Way to go!!! You are down 17 lbs and back in the saddle. The devil loves to trip us; the key is to remember that God is sovereign over all and just waiting for us to ask for His help.

Make a copy of what you wrote and read that over again to yourself during the day, you know what you need and want to do, it's right there in black and white. You are your best Motivator! Really, only you can make your choices. They may not always be "right" or "healthy", but this is for lifetime changes and habits, let it ride.

This is our life. We go along doing all of the right things, making healthy decisions, working out, eating healthy and feeling good about ourselves.
Then "IT" happens. Whatever "IT" is, it is very powerful. "IT" knocks us off track, keeps us from our workout, force feeds us junk food ...."IT" is part of life though. We can't get rid of "IT" we can try and manage it.
I think the biggest part of succeeding in a healthy lifestyle is recognizing when "IT" comes into our lives and learning how to make "IT" just "it".
When we recognize that we are off track we just get kick "IT" out of the way and get back on our journey.
You are doing so good! Kick "IT" in the A$$ and start planning and being prepared. Then "IT" can't take over. :) And you are in charge again.

This is something that has happened to every single member at one time or another. You're not a machine. You can't be perfect 24/7. That's why I give all new members and anyone who will listen to me one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.
Remember, you're trying to change habits learned over a life time. that's not going to happen overnight, a week, a month or even a year. Change takes time, thus the need to be patient with yourself and your body.
No one ever became a healthy eater overnight. Thus the need to stop beating on yourself because you're not perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.
One small change CAN change your life !

After losing 24lbs in in 20 weeks, felt good, got off my diabetic meds, felt so positive....what the heck happened? Well, I had a couple of physical setbacks, that gradually let my mind-set change back to it's old way of thinking, which caused me to gain 7 lbs ---and I want desperately to get back on track. This is all in my head. I know that. So why did I lose control? And how can I get it back? OK, I walked this morning... that's good. today I start tracking my food intake again, faithfully! Then I need to work on my meal plans, buy healthy snacks and food/ and next week I am going to start back at the Y taking my water aerobics classes twice a week. I bet this is going to be a little hard for the first week or two. Maybe not as hard as when I first started 30 weeks ago, but I'm going to find that original determination that worked so well before. I remember that what helped the most was planning ahead. Having my bathing suit and towel bag ready the night before made getting up at 7am and going to the Y a little easier. Rewards helped too, getting my walking stuff ready and thinking about the music I would listen to and my walking route then knowing that afterward, I would go by Dunkin and get a morning breakfast wrap and coffee, gave me something to motivate toward. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. Check back with me in a week.
