Reading your post, you definitely have a lot of things that you can use as motivation. A new baby, a book (that will *fingers crossed* you will soon find representation for) and a girlfriend. Your own personal health should also be a big motivation because you should be doing this all for you. Sparkpeople has great resources and great people. Best of luck with your weightloss. Don't hesitate to sparkmail me if you have a question or need someone to help keep you accountable.

Hi and welcome. So glad you are here to make a change! Get familiar with everything here and join some teams. Teams are good for motivation, support and accountability. I am adding a couple of links to teams you may like but in case you are interested I did a search for "writers" and "Pennsylvania" in the team search bar and so many came up!!! Good luck on your journey, and please don't think I am pushy!

Hey everybody.

This is about the millionth time I've tried to get myself back into shape, and I don't know how many times I can fail before I give up for good.

I'm a 6'0" 305lb 23 year old guy from Pennsylvania. I live in rural South West Pennsylvania with my girlfriend and son, with another on the way.

I consider myself something of a writer. I've been penning fiction since I was a small child, but just recently have actually undertaken my first novel, finishing it about a month ago, and I am now currently attempting to seek representation by a literary agent to seek publication.

I'm a stay at home dad to my son and am starting college in August for business administration.

I'm very optimistic for the future, but I feel with the shape I'm in, I may not be there for it, so I'm trying hard to change it.
