All of the exercises here can be done from a seated position, so you might find some options that work for you.

Hi, I'm in the home stretch of recovery from shoulder surgery and hoping not to have another one for surgical scar debridement. My family doctor will only allow me to walk 7-10 blocks (total) per day. Right now, I'm not allowed to go out in really cold weather due to respiratory condition that they are stabilizing.
I've lost a little weight recently by working hard on my nutrition and diet.
Any suggestions regarding indoor exercise? I have a couple of DVD's on reserve at the library... chair exercise for seniors, exercises for people with mobility limitations. I don't know if there is anything else I can do.
P.S. the doctor is reluctant to let me go to the gym to walk on the treadmill. He's concerned about my breathing if the gym isn't very hygienic.
