I agree about seeing a doctor, but be sure to find a good one. Many doctors aren't as well-versed in this sort of issue as they should be. Find a doctor that will listen to you. Preferably, find one that specializes in such things.
After you do that, think about joining one of the support groups here on SP that are for people recovering from eating disorders. I'm not saying you have an eating disorder, but it might be helpful to talk to some folks who have had similar experiences to yours.
You're not a bad person for doing this. Your not a bad person for eating 2000 calories and you're not a bad person because you made yourself throw up. You heard somewhere that some people try to get rid of the food they eat by throwing up...and you figured you'd try it too. I bet many people here have done the same thing. Hopefully, you found that it's very unpleasant, and you don't want to do that again!

When is the last time you went to the doctor ? If you haven't had a physical in a long time and you've been throwing up your meals, the best place to start is your doctor. Talk to them about what you've been feeling. Your doctor can refer you to a good therapist who specializes in eating disorders. Throwing up your meals because you feel guilty is bulimia.
You've recognized that you have a problem. That's an important first step to recovering your health. The second step is heading to the doctor. They can get you the help you need to stop feeling the way you do about your body.
You're at risk for a number of medical issues if you continue to throw up. You can recover your health, but you can't do it on your own. Seek professional help ASAP ! If you're afraid to go to the doctor, ask a loved one or family member to go with you.
You are not a bad person because you have these feelings.
As Kris mentioned, it would be a good idea to discuss this with a doctor and/or therapist. This is not something that just goes away on its own. I encourage you to please talk with your doctor, along with checking out www.somethingfishy.org . They have contact information for disordered eating support groups as well as other information to aid in your recovery. While SparkPeople is a great place to get support, we are not able to give the full support that is needed for disordered eating habits.
In regards to not eating so much at night (many people have trouble at night) - I recommend trying to find some activities that will keep you busy, especially your hands. Hi EVILCLAMS - I can understand your pain. Given that you have resorted to making yourself throw up, and also noticing your username, I strongly suspect that there is some mental health issues going on. I strongly suggest if you aren't already under the care of a Dr and Therapist for this, that you make an appointment with your Dr, explain what is going on and ask for a referral to a Therapist who specializes in Eating Disorders. There is often hidden baggage behind this and they are best to help you identify and deal with the problems - they are able to give you the tools to prevent/reduce it happening.
As far as calories - eating 2,000 calories isn't really excessive occasionally. 3,500 calories equate to ONE POUND. Just going over occasionally certainly doesn't make that much difference. I have gone over a number of times but guess what??? I have still succeeded in reaching my goal after having been overweight for about 30 years - while eating a healthy diet and in a normally healthy calorie range. This is a healthy lifestyle - not a diet. It is about balance - sometimes we do really well and sometimes not quite so good, but generally it balances out so long as we apply the MOST of the time we eat well and within our calorie range.
When you fall again (and we all do at times) don't go beating yourself up. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start again. THAT is how we succeed. Deprivation and starvation doesn't get us anywhere except falling off the wagon and/or sick!!

well, put your fingers on the key board and type to friends. Spark people is here to listen to you, two issues--eating, and that we have tomorrow to work on it. the other issue getting rid of it, there is always tomorrow

I'm really worried about myself. I made myself throw up today because I ate over 2000 calories. I just felt so horrible and worthless. What can I do to make sure I don't do this again? I know it is wrong, but there really isn't much stopping me from doing it again. How am I supposed to control myself from eating so much at night?
