I have been trying to get out of the same two pound range now for three weeks. I keep getting to my weigh in day and find I"m at the same spot I was the week before. I'm trying some new workouts though so hopefully they will help kick my weight loos into gear this week. So I"m also "behind" a little in my weight loss goal.

Good for you for getting your workouts in! I love my workout time now (so not what I would have said even 6 months ago). It's my time for me and to foucs soley on myself and no one else. I don't have to worry about work or what I need to do when I get home that night. It is just a time for me. Now if only my body would start shedding the pounds to reflect how good I feel!

Good luck the rest of the week and congrats on your one pound lost! That's huge!

Last week I had gained back a pound, but today was down again - so back where I was 2 weeks ago. So "behind schedule" by a couple pounds. Trying to remain positive.

I have a spreadsheet where I check off doing my treadmill; keeping to my calorie limit, etc. and I have realized that I'm not very consistent with my food. So I'm going to try and focus on that and see if the scale responds.

The good news is that my time on the treadmill has become more of a second nature - I automatically try and figure out when I'm going to fit it into my schedule. We had friends over on Saturday night to watch the football game and I got off the treadmill 15 min before they arrived - but I got it done!

This past Sunday I reached a HUGE goal and ran in my very first Half Marathon! Was such an amazing accomplishment for me. I do feel like I put my efforts more on the running side of things the past two weeks than the weight loss and need to get myself refocused now that this goal has been met. Weigh in day is on Thursday and we are going to work hard this week to get ready for it! Happy Tuesday everyone!

I liked Jibbie49's reference to "releasing" pounds - I always thought "losing" weight was so inaccurate because it implied that (1) it was accidental and (2) you might want it back.
I did my weekly weigh-in and I had "released" one more pound. This means that I'm one pound off track but at least I'm "moving."

I just wanted to wish you good luck on your challenge! I'm doing something similar. I'm trying to lost 60 pounds between now and March 31st. My goal is to have to buy a whole new wardrobe for the spring/summer! Especially since I told myself I'm not allowed to go shopping this winter, except to pick up a couple of much needed pieces. Enjoy your journey!

I am excited to find this challenge because I set a similar one for myself!

I started trying to lose weight LAST January and was successful in getting rid of 14 lbs. by May. (Obviously didn't go real fast.) I felt great; I got compliments. I was wearing clothes I hadn't worn for a year!

Then the busy/stressful time of my work began and continued through mid-August. I didn't exercise; my dinners included a couple glasses of wine. I was working one full day of the weekend plus every night until 7 pm. And - you guessed it - ALL the weight came back.

So now I have started again (mid-September); I'm down 5 lbs. and if I get rid of one lb. each week, I'll hit my goal on - you guessed it - exactly January 1st!

Sending good thoughts to everyone! I'll be following everyone's progress!

Happy Monday to everyone! Hope you have a great start to your healthy week! Today I gave up my lunch hour and went for a run because I knew it was going to be the only time I would have available to do it today. Now I'm eating my salad and soup at my desk and feel really glad the work out is done for the day.

Good for you! I had a similar issue where I was way over doing it and not taking enough time to recuperate. So now I do 4 to 5 times a week and make sure that I give my body time to relax.

At the beginning of this year, I was so convinced I was going to lose all the weight I need to lose very fast. I did not expect to be going through so many ups and downs! Now I finally feel like I am able to focus on my weight loss, no matter how many ups and downs come my way! I feel committed to this. I am only on day 4, but am feeling really good about myself and my progress.

I wish you both luck on your weight loss. And I think going to the gym after work is a great idea! Because of what you said, sweating it all out before you go home and relax. Too many times I've tried to force myself to go in the morning- it doesn't usually work out! I love to sleep. emoticon If I schedule my workouts for late afternoon, it's better for me.

Right now I have a goal of going to the gym 2 times a week. Less pressure than before. Before, I used to over-schedule myself!

I can't believe that the year is so close to ending! But I really like the idea of finishing the year strong and not waiting until the new year to say once again that I'm going to do something different. Why not start now! I have already done really well on my journey. Today I hit the 40 pounds down mark! The most weight I have EVER lost! So happy and so excited to keep going! I think my goal is to lose between 1.5 and 2 pounds per week. I don't always hit the 2 pounds like I would want, but definitely see myself doing the 1.5.

Staying motivated while being stressed at work is hard, but I see my workouts being a way to let go of that stress. I go for my runs/gym time immediately when I get out of work. That way I am going to sweat it all out before I get home and get all comfy and ready for time to unwind.

I said back in January that 2013 as going to be my year to change ME to who I WANT to be. I'm ready to finish this and get more of the weight off! We can do it!

Hello all! As you may or may not know, today is the beginning of my 92 challenge to lose 8 lbs per month- or 2 lbs per week- until December 31, 2013.

I woke up today and remembered it's October 1, 2013 and was like.. "oh yeah! It's October 1st!" . I felt happy and well-prepared. Yesterday I made an online "weight loss countdown" calendar;counted down until Day Zero- January 1, 2014.

Is anyone else doing similar challenge? We can support each other! I could use some more support emoticon

Of course, it's easy for me to stay calm and focused now, but I'm a little worried about when I go back to work and get stressed or I experience something emotional and I "forget" the importance of my personal challenge. What should I do then? How do I stay focused?
