In short, lost job in April, have a new job, but 1/2 pay. We're making it work, but also are cutting out many extras. I'm not normally the one who did the grocery shopping, but have taken on that responsibility. I'm looking for a higher protein diet that doesn't focus on meats as the only source of protein, (mostly because of the price.) I've found and have been using beans in soups and casaroles. I've never even considered tofu, but if it's cost effective, might try it. What are some other higher protein, low cost options I can consider for a family of 4?
