How long have you been stuck ? If it's only been a week or two, you may just need to be more patient. While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there will be weeks you don't lose. there will even be weeks you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. the weight doesn't magically drop off the minute we decide we need to lose. There really will be weeks you don't see a loss and that's perfectly normal.
Instead, look for other subtle changes that aren't measured by the scale. Are your clothes starting to fit better ? Do you have a bit more energy ? Can you walk up stairs without getting tired ? Can you carry more bags of books or groceries ? Are you sleeping better ? These are just some of the good things that are happening to your body that can not be measured by the scale. So, if the scale isn't moving, be patient and look for other non scale related victories.
Depending on how long you haven't seen a loss, you may just need to be more patient with your body ? How long has it been ?
Several days of fewer carbohydrates and more protein can help push you off a plateau.
Focus on protein ...Have 3 ounces of protein at every meal as it stimulates the body to release the fat burning hormone glucagon.
Skip all breads and pasta for a few days.... eat veggie soup....eat berries which have the least impact on blood sugar and veggies as they can also hydrate you....as proper hydration is critical to health and anyone trying to lose weight.
I have gotten stuck at one weight and don't seem to be able to start losing again. I still think it is dinner that is messing me up. When someone else cooks its just hard to know what they put in it. Westminister uses processed foods so it is very hard to get them to tell you about calories. I have been trying to count their calories and thought I was doing a fair job. Apparently I am not. Shelba
