As my title suggests, this is not my first time here. I set up my spark page, joined a few teams, then dropped out of sight. Reason...not good at finishing what I start emoticon .
I am 61 years old, married to my sweetie for almost 42 years now (yeah, we're joined at the hip). I work full time as a shift supervisor at a retail drug store, so my hours a different every day. I love my job because I get to see so many people every day, and I love to greet and talk to them. We have 4 grown children (youngest, our daughter age 27, still lives with us), and we have 6 grandchildren. My grandkids came up with the name grandma meeko for me as we had a cat named Meeko that they loved to visit at our house, so hence, the name.

I am currently 30 pounds over the high ideal weight for my height (5'8). At my age, I am starting to feel the little aches and pains associated with my overweight and want to get back in the ideal range. i am blessed to have no major health problems and I don't have to take any medications at all, and I am so thankful to still be able to say that. I know that if I don't get my weight down, this may change. I have successfully lost weight before by "dieting", but slowly gain it back when I stop. So...I realize that I don't want to "diet", I want to eat healthy for the rest of my life, yet still be able to have a small treat once in a while. I know I need to cut back on quantities and treats! And i need accountability! I need to be more consistent in exercise! And i need to get over the thinking that it won't work for me at my age! I've come to realize that it's about more than just what I eat, it's about where my focus is. When i focus on food, I want more food, when I focus on God and what he wants for me, I can be successful.

So, I am here to be a part of a community of people who can help me be accountable. I am looking forward to going on this journey with like minded people. See you around!
