I use a mister that I bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond and fill it with Olive Oil. I usually count all condiments and such but this I don't unless I use it often/in higher quantities.

I read on Dr. Oz's website that there are chemicals added into the ingredients in non-stick sprays that make this unhealthy. This makes sense since they are in an aerosol can. An alternative with similar results would be to fill an empty spray bottle/mister with a healthy oil like olive oil or grapeseed oil to create your own version. I haven't tried this yet but its on my "to do" list.

I use parchment paper to line baking tins so I don't need to grease them. Works a treat! I also bought pan liners in a silicon material that line the frying pan. They don't work quite so effortlessly, but they do work. You can get them from WeightWatchers and probably other suppliers.

Manufacturers are only required to list fat that is higher than .5g per serving. That is why the sprays don't have to list their fat content even though all they are is basically oil and propellant.
Having said that, the amount of calories added from the spray is negligible unless you are really laying it on in a thick coat. I figure that daily inconsistencies between food items will more than make up for any added calories in from the spray, so I don't list the calories.
If you want to add in the calories you could figure out how long it takes you to coat the pan, then divide that by three to get the total "servings" of spray in the pan. Then multiply the servings by however many actual food servings are in the pan to get your total spray servings. This is going to be high if you only are using a part of the pan, but spray the whole thing.
In short: I don't count the spray, but you can if you feel that it is important to you. --Heather

I use non-stick cooking spray about 4 times a week to make things like meat or eggs. It says that it has no calories but the first ingredient is soybean oil. I know that oil has a lot of calories. If I coat my frying pan with spray do I need to add calories to my daily total? The serving size is 1/3 second spray. How am I supposed to know what a 1/3 of a second spray is?
