Thanks for the kind support, all! This is now Day 5 without rice, bread or sweets - except on day 3 when I had half a cup of rice - I am finding that drinking LOTS of water is helping a lot - except for the trips to the restroom :)

I haven't eaten anything "white" in so long, I try and stay away from gluten products as well. I do not have celiac, however I do have a sensitivity to it. I found that when I eat products with gluten in them I am bloated and retain water. If I don't eat it, I feel thin and usually within a few days I am down a few lbs. Good luck.

I did that a year ago and at first it was very hard, but it gets easier. Your body will eventually get used to it and you will no longer miss it.

Try to find foods in other categories that you really enjoy, not just eat. This may help you miss "the white stuff" a bit less.
On YouTube listen to Richard Johnson M.D. speak on "THE SUGAR FIX" and to William Davis MD speak on "WHEAT BELLY". Both lectures will help you. I've read both books as well. I know I have bowel issues.
