Hi! My name is Shaela, I have joined SparksPeople to find some great tools to keep motivating me to reach my goal!

I have always been a very active person, playing soccer, running, swimming, the whole 9 yards, although when I became an adult, and started doing adult thing (i.e. working behind a desk) it all stopped.

At 22 I've found myself in a rut. Having been such an active person, to all of a sudden, waking up, going to work, going home and sleeping. That's what my life turned into, which in effect made me gain weight. I was eating the same way I always had, although at the time, I didn't put into consideration that without working off the calories I took in, it wouldn't go away...funny how that works...

I have finally come to terms with the fact that I'm a bit overweight, and with that being said, I have to start working hard to get rid of what I had gained. Isn't it unfair how much easier it is to gain weight than it is to lose?

I love the fact that this site has an amazing community, who is so supportive! I feel that this will keep me motivated to reach my goal! I've also started (today) blogging about my journey as I continue down the road to my ultimate self. Not that losing weight will necessarily make or break my happiness, although this journey will definitely help me with reconnecting and being honest with myself. With that being said, please feel free to check it out and comment!!
