We have ten children, nine of them still living at home. You can imagine the haul of candy we got this past Halloween. A canning pot full! I looked at that pot and thought to myself I could easily just sit and eat small piece after small piece of candy.

I decided then that I was not going to eat one...not one. For the most part I didn't want any. There was one night that I did really want one, so I sent my husband to do store for some sugar free chocolate pudding. One cup full did the trick.

A few weeks ago I was asked to make cookies for a dance performance. The children and I spent all day making dough to freeze. I decided then that I would not have any cookies this Christmas. In fact, I would decide right then and there what treat this season I wanted to have. I decided it was going to be my bestie's pumpkin roll for Thanksgiving and my gingerbread roll for Christmas. This makes it easy to say no thank you to treats. I know I have these two delicious, home made treats ready.

I have a horrible desire to eat ice cream. No Cookie Christmas and the promise of the treat has also made it easy to say no to ice cream.
