Hello! I am also new to running. I have already learned to love it though! Check out the SparkPeople Running Resource Center; it's full of articles regarding safety, form, choosing proper footwear, etc. Also, I'd recommend a Couch to 5K program, if you're not already doing one. SparkPeople has one, the SparkPeople Rookie Running Program, but they're are different ones. You can just do an internet search and find one that suits you. If you have a smart phone, I'd recommend the Zombies, Run! 5K Training because I'm using that one alongside the SP Rookie one, and it's super fun!
Hi and welcome. So glad you are here to make a change! Get familiar with everything here, make a sparkpage and join some teams. Teams are good for motivation, support and accountability. I recommend you use the team search bar and type in your hobbies/interests or the first number of your age followed by 0 and something. Example - "30 something", good luck on your journey
I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come! * Diet is a dirty word. Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate!
