WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Hello..... My name is Marge, Im 51 years old, and could stand to lose about 70lbs. Since my hysterectomy about 10 years ago, I pretty much stopped excercising due to the pain of the incision. I use to be able to do sit ups in the middle of my floor. Recently had a meniscus knee scope, and am starting therapy on Tuesday. I love to swim and asked for a swim pass as well, and was offered a 6 week pool pass, started today. 30 minutes of swim. March 18, I will be attending my first spring break with my sisterinlaw to florida, so I am excited to begin this weight loss system. Never counted calories before, fat grams, and low carb diets Iv done, didn't succeed. This program is perfect for me, I really like the way it tracks. So, nice to be here, and wish you all goodluck, as Im going to need it too!!!!

Congratulations on taking your first steps towards becoming a healthier you. You are going about this the recommended way of making small changes and adapting gradually. Have you checked out the trackers located under the My Trackers tab at the top of the page. There is a nutrition tracker and a fitness tracker that a lot of people find extremely helpful.

Hello I just joined SparkPeople and I am hoping that it will keep me motivated to lose 90 lbs. I know so far I am thinking more about my eating choices. Today I had a pretty healthy snack compared to the usual chips and dip. I am pretty proud of myself. I also did not have a soda today. Drank ice tea and water instead.
