I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. My name is Janice and I've been a member of Sparkpeople for a couple of years, however I never took advantage of all that this site has to offer. Instead, I chose to do the quick weight-loss starvation diets to loose weight. First, let me back up, I had gastric-bypass surgery in January of 2004. I lost 122 lbs, and as of today I have put all but 27 lbs back on. Sooo, when all attempts to do the fad diets only resulted in me gaining the weight back on, I realized that I needed to change my relationship with food for any lasting results. The surgery and the fad diets are only temporary if you don't learn how to eat healthy and have a healthy relationship with food. LOL. So, that's my story.
One final note, I have two young boys ages 9 & 11 (he'll be 12 Feb. 6th) who are both over 200 lbs, and we as a family are going to get our weight to a healthy weight. I need help and encouragement when it comes to my children!
I just keep reminding myself: One day at a time One pound at a time And before you know it, You've reached your goal!
