Welcome to SparkPeople! It is a pretty great site, isn't it? Like you, I joined, then spent some time getting to know what all was available here, and learning. And learning. And learning! LOL There are some great tools here - the nutrition tracker was a huge eye-opener for me when I started logging my food. Now, I rely on it daily because I love the numbers and seeing my efforts and planning pay off.
You've got this! It isn't a diet, it's a healthy lifestyle, and you are totally worth the effort it takes to make it happen.

Hi there I am new to this site and what I have been reading and learning here is incredible, I joined last week and it has taken me a few days to just browse around, I am excited to learn. I have been on diets as long as I can remember and I am a big stress eater. I have had lots of stress in my life and that is why I am here, that stress has really started to take a toll on my body. I am 47 and sitting at 209lbs, I was 257 at my highest. That weight came with the fad of low Carb, I won't say which plan but, it was making me sick, I somehow thought that I would love to eat fat and meat all the time. Maybe that was the blessing in disguise. Kind of like when my dad made me smoke cigarettes till I turned green. I am ready to grow up once and for all, realize that eating like that all the time makes me turn green. I have been just focusing on the web site here to guide me and already I feel better, no bloating feel energy. I wish at some point in my life I would have accepted the fact that I need to just eat right, period. I am so looking forward to hanging out here everyday.
