Welcome! Fast break goals. Huge fan of them. You can do anything for a week or two right? Set some related to nutrition and excercise and you'll either feel or even see the difference on the scale.
And food track food track food track. Be diligent. Nobody cares if you go over. There's no "penalty". Learn from those instances and don't beat yourself up. Also, I have far better results when I track my food before I choose what I'm going to eat. At the very least, before I sit down to eat something.

WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Hello everyone, my name is Addison. Looking forward to being a big part of SparkPeople! I don't know squat about exercising, or what meals I should eat to losing weight. (I didn't do anything for meals as my goal, I left that out) But I will try my best starting Tuesday (which is today but, need to go to bed, then wake up) After waking up, I already set up a treadmill upstairs. It's kind of crappy now it's old.. the ON button won't even working anymore for "miles" or "calories burnt". But the machine still works.
So I'm going to use my accepedo app on the phone to track these information down instead. I'm hoping to snap out of my laziness and ACTUALLY get serious and use the treadmill as part of my life I use everyday now. I also want to do some more than just the treadmill! Exercise my arms and chest as well... but don't know what I should for those yet... I'm just using 5 pound dumbells right now... which I started Monday Night.
I'm 5 feet and 4 inches short and weigh about 201 pounds. My suggested goal was to lose from 201-151 by November 23rd, 2013. That's 50 pounds and I never knew you could lose THAT much in a year! But yeah, my belly is out there.. not so much.. but still want to lose it. I have heartburn as well.. like EVERYDAY... that I use Tums for. And I have a kidney problem that I take 2 pills now for!! Used to be 1 but now I'm getting a higher dosage. The doctors recommended me to start exercising like for 2 years now which I still haven't done. But starting Tuesday (Today when I wake up) I'm going to exercise everyday. Not because of the doctors, but because I really want to do this now.
I truly, TRULY, want to get down and serious about exercising now and hopefully make this my addiction too! So I've signed up for SparkPeople to get to know others maybe and hopefully get some advice and tips from them on what I should do.
I'm sorry for this long post! But I guess it was needed. I'm a new person to exercising and would really love to be in a healthy shape!!
I forgot to add that... I really love to eat... and those meals aren't so healthy. Should I stop with the fat and unhealthy food? Maybe I DO need some help with meals after all.. which is why SparkPeople is here ^_^
