Welcome BRONWYN_56. I have heard that you should only run for three days, then take a break for a day. Maybe walk or bike or swim on the day off. Good luck!

You could try a different 5k program. They have ones for people who already walk/run. It's more advanced then the couch to 5k one. Based on articles and advice I've read over the years, I'd recommend running three days a week (following one of the more advanced programs) and doing circuit training another three. The final day would be a rest day.

Hi and welcome to Sp! First of all I would suggest that you ask your question on the fitness and exercise board here:

Then I would also suggest you can ask that question on a team. Becoming involved with a team that has like interests and/or goals is a good way to stay motivated and give and get encouragement and ask questions that others may know...Here are a couple suggestions but feel free to find your own...

Hello!

It's my first post on here but I've been using for the site for a few weeks now.

Like most, I'm tired of being overweight and looking to shed some pounds this summer and maintain for much longer.

I've been doing the couch to 5k running program combined with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred to help reach my goals.

The couch to 5K program says you should take 8 weeks but I am young with fair amount of experience exercising feel as though I can condense this without *too* much trouble.

Is it bad to run 6 times a week with Circuit training mixed in there?
I always hear that you should not run everyday and I wouldn't want my efforts to be in vain! Having said this, I'm looking for an efficient weight loss journey!

Thanks for you help!

Bronwyn
