WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Thank you very much for the support and the tips. I think I will take you up on joining your team. I look forward to change. I have a LONG way to go and have been over weight a long time I was a size 14 in high school and havnt seen that number since then and I have been out of school for 12 years and 3 kids. I look forward to this incredible journey. :)

I want to congratulate you on making this journey. I began my own journey a few years ago and though my pace has been slow I have lost over 100 pounds! You can have success too!
This is a great place to get healthy! There are so many tools, resources, and encouraging people to help you on your journey to "Health & Fitness". Be sure to poke around the site and try the nutrition and fitness trackers, Spark Recipes, Daily Spark, health articles, and secrets.
Joining a team will help you meet like-minded people that share similar life situations or goals. You can join mine to start. I share many helpful tips, recipes and insights from my own journey so you too can benefit. The DAILY CHAT section has lots of helps.

Trisha, I so appreciated your post. I gained most of my weight after having a beautiful baby girl very late in life. Anyway, I find SparkPeople to be a wonderful tool - I am inspired by what others accomplish and it helps me to keep plugging along. One day at a time, one day at a time.

Trisha! This is a very supportive and encouraging group of people so you've come to the right place! I lost 30 lbs. with Weight Watchers @ 10 years ago and have gained back 15 so I understand your struggle.

Hello everyone, My name is Trisha and I am new to the Forum. I have been on Sparkpeople a couple of times but never really stuck to it. I call dieting setting myself up for failure. You name it I have tried it, HCG, Atkins, Nutrisystem I do good for a couple of weeks lose weight but I let myself down all the time. The one things that I have been missing is the communication the feeling of not being alone. I hope using this forum and staying connected as well as counting my Calories and exercising will help me to lose and succeed. I recently lost 30lbs with atkins but have gained more than 10lbs back. I am not even 30 yet and I feel like Im giving up on ever feeling good about myself. So I look forward to using all the tools that sparkpeople has to offer and begin this journey to a new me.
