I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come! * Diet is a dirty word. Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate!

Sounds like you are on the right track!
MEASURE YOUR SERVINGS! Our minds are sneaky and we vastly underestimate what we are eating. TRACK EVERYTHING THAT GOES IN YOUR MOUTH! If you write it down, it is real. Don't try to remember at the end of the day. Do it immediately after you eat if not before. MOVE! It probably won't be much at first. 15 minutes on the bike was hard for me at first and I had to ice my knee afterward. After several weeks I tried the elliptical trainer. I couldn't do a minute. Now I can do an hour without any problem. The fact is, you CAN do this! I am proof of it.

Hi. I joined yesterday and posted something somewhere: does anyone know how many calories the beginner Jane fonda workout from the 1980s burns? Doesn't matter. I did it - third day in a row. Stiff and sore, but can already bend, flex, etc more than 3 days ago. Will continue on!
Looking at breakfasts now and a grocerly list. Don't want to get overwhelmed so I'm doing it slow, one meal at a time! changing habits is hard.
I'm a 53 year old nurse, and gained say 50 pounds or so in the last two years - newly remarried then. So I'm fat and Happy. Want to lose the FAT part!
