I've found that the more involved I am, the more successful I've been. If you haven't done so already, you may want to join a couple SparkTeams and also see if there are any Challenges you'd want to join (the Challenges are under the "Community" tab at the top of the page).
I've found the challenges to be particularly helpful to keep me motivated.
