Definitely use the Nutrition tracker because it is demonstrative in forming healthy eating habits. Be sure to run a report it will give you valuable information to make choices in the future. Don't cheat yourself out of this vital information and the behavior modifying effect it will have on your eating. THE NUTRITION TRACKER REPORT IS VERY POWERFUL STUFF DON'T UNDERESTIMATE IT! I lived in Houston for a decade and also contracted Lyme Disease from a tick bite after a walk in the woods and have DDD so we have much in common! I'm 58 and have lost 110+ pounds here on Sparkpeople.
NEVER give up. Just keep trying every day. Also the more you connect to this website the more success you will have. Join a few teams. I highly suggest this 10 week one:

Hi, I'm Marion. I live in the Houston, TX area. In 2008 I contracted Lyme Disease. Because of the controversy that surrounds this disease, I was not properly treated and it quickly entered the chronic stage. I was given several different medicines that put over 100 pounds on me in less than a year. I've been unable to do any kind of real workout to help in weight loss due to the extreme pain I have to live with, so loosing weight has been very difficult. I can do a little for a very short period of time, but am able to do it several times a day, so I am in the process of trying to put together an exercise program that I can do. I am also starting on a much stricter diet then I've ever been on. The doctor says between 1,000 and 1,200 calories a day. This will not be hard to do for me because I love all the foods that are low calorie to begin with. lol
My goal is to loose a good portion of my weight by my birthday in November. This will be my 50th birthday and I would like to have something to show for this past year.
I also have two other goals and they are to get the much needed dental work and treatment for a bulging disc in my neck that has been causing migraines, back spasms, and arm and leg pain/numbness.
Just learning my way around SparkPeople and am enjoying every minute! I can always use some food/menu suggestions, so feel free to send them my way. Thanks!
