WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.
A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.
2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Hi Marni...so glad you joined...I have a suggestion for you on a diet...i'll give you a little background first... My sis and her hubby were in a bad car accident last year. It messed up their backs and just 2 weeks ago my sis had her first surgery on it. My sis was just over 200lbs and she should be around 130 or so...she needed to find a diet that she could do because she couldn't exercise much because of her back...so needless to say...she found one called The Belly Fat Cure by Jorge Cruise. She has been doing it for 3 months and has lost over 30lbs with little to no exercise and so I decided to try it...My highest weight was 380 and I have trouble walking for long periods of time because of weight and I have planters faciatis in my foot. I just did my 2 month weigh in on monday and I have lost 30lbs and 8in with little to no exercise and my energy level has gone up! Plus I feel healthier...You don't have to buy anything except maybe the book but library's have it too (thats were my sis got it). And you can eat foods from the store...If you would like to know more you can SP mail me...
Hi Marni and welcome. So glad you are here to make a change! Get familiar with everything, make a spark page and join some teams. Teams are good for motivation, support and accountability. I am adding a couple of links to teams you may find helpful but I think you should use the teams search bar and type in things like your interests/hobbies or try putting in the first number of your age followed by a 0 and something. Example - "30 something", good luck on your journey

Hi, my name is Marni. I am a stay at home momma of two girls (Lulu-my mini me-11 going on 30 and Abby-I swear my sister gave birth to her, 13 going on 14) a cat-Lucy, a shih-tzu-Jesabelle, a rabbit-Pepper and a cranky husband Michael.
I constantly have chronic back pain. A lot of the times i walk with a cane when needed. In October of 2012, I had spinal surgery in my l4-l5-si area. Unfortunetly i still have a lot of pain. Mainly in my si area. Which i am about to have an epideral for. So fingers crossed it helps!!!!
I have 40 lbs i would like to lose. However i have no to little energy. I take a womens multi vitamin, a b-12 and an l-tyrosine vitamin daily. i am constantly cold and tired. i have been walking as much as i can stand right now. i occasionaly spend the day outside weed eating and gardening or spend the day cleaning the house. Afterwards, i am down for about two days with extreme back pain. When i do know that i will be on my feet or working for the day, i wear a back brace.
anyhow....... i am open to ANY suggestions, help or comments! :)
