WELCOME TO SPARK!!! Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.
1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.
2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.
The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Yeah I keep hearing about the teams. I was planning on looking into them and seeing whats going on.

Hi. I'm new to SparkPeople. I currently live in Price, UT. I am working on losing weight since even at the age of 23 I have been seeing some drastic health costs. I served in the US Navy and was actually kicked out because I couldn't pass the PFA. It was kind of a low point in my life. Now I'm trying to get better and healthier. I've started with small steps though.
Each Wednesday we are going to go swimming when its a $1 admission at the local pool. I also bought a water bottle off Amazon that I love! It's all bright orange and simple. It's to help me get use to drinking the amount of water I should be. My issue is I never stick with it. I haven't found too much that I really enjoy doing so I lose interest pretty fast. I love to swim though so I figure this may be a good motivation. I just have to find a few things around here where I can do some other things. I plan to go up to the college to see if they have any simple classes where I can learn like martial arts or something else that may keep my interest and help me lose weight.
This summer me and my boyfriend also plan to buy bicycles and ride around town instead of drive. I plan on getting one that has a decent sized basket so that I can do our grocery shopping with it as well. Well I guess that's basically it.
