Thank you so much! I can get down and up off the floor. I do have some beginning arthritis in my right shoulder which makes it difficult sometimes to do anything, but I think the wall pushups will be great to start with. I really appreciate your input!

Hi, cathy !

If you find it difficult to do regular push ups or even modified ones, you might start with some wall push ups. Wall push ups will help strengthen your upper body. Are you able to get on the floor without any problems ? If you don't have any difficulty getting up off the floor, you should also start doing plank. If being on your hands is too much, it's okay to do modified plank too.

Wall pushups and modified plank are two excellent exercises for strengthening your upper body and core.

You might also consider investing in a set of resistance bands. The fitness section has a good selection of exercises as well as workouts that can be done with a set of resistance bands. Resistance bands are a good way to strength train.

rows with a resistance band or 1 arm dumbbell rows (which you can substitute a milk jug or the like)

I really need to work on some upper body strength. I cannot stand for any long period of time without my upper back hurting between my "wing" bones (and I mean horribly). The muscles are so weak that they don't like to try and support my upright position. I have no access to exercise machines, so need to find some good exercises to strengthen them. If you can recommend something specific, let me know.
