focus on small steps to reach big goals. Just keep breaking it down. And if you do screw up, don't fret. This is a lifestyle change. Don't ruin the rest of your day though with the belief that tomorrow's a new day (which it is! Horray!) but maybe you can even salvage your day with the thought that every hour is a new hour...

Just remember girls that losing 90 pounds isn't the goal you're working towards now. Set a smaller goal, like losing 10 pounds over the next month or working out twice a week. Then you'll feel like you're succeeding and meeting your goals and you won't get so discouraged.

Then set up a reward if you meet your goals. Work out twice a week for a month, get a manicure. Lose 10 pounds in a month, go look at wedding dresses. Something that you really want to do. That way, you'll be motivating yourself as well! And if you don't meet your goal, don't beat yourself up, just set a new goal and maybe one a little less lofty than the first!

This is a marathon, not a race!

I really think an accountability partner is a great idea. It is what I am looking forward to as well. My wedding is in September and I really wanna lose 50-70 lbs by then. I know its a huge goal and I am having a little bit of a problem with my will power. But i've lost 8 lbs since I've started.

Ok, we got engaged two julys ago....and I have had all this time to lose weight...and what have I done? I gained 10 pounds...if only it were as easy to lose it as to gain it. I have done sparkpeople before and had success, but I feel so discouraged...im in the mindset of.."why bother, I wont be able to get enough off in time anyway"...the wedding is November 3, 2012...I really want to be able to get the dress I want and like all of the pictures, but I do not know where to start. So, I probably have 8 months at the most to try to drop about 90 pounds...can anyone out there just give me some motivation? Please...things feel so hopeless. emoticon
