I have now lost 81 pounds since the end of April last year - I have had some plateaus that lasted months many that lasted weeks, and a few that lasted only a week or so. I would tell you I lose SLOWLY - I would also tell you I can't predict when the eating and workouts will pay off - BUT they always do as long as I don't quit. About a month ago, someone mentioned that I must be LOSING A LOT OF WEIGHT every week - their guess was at least 2 pounds a week - I laughed at the idea and assured them that I was certainly NOT losing anything LIKE that amount - THEN, I did the math - I am actually losing about 1.5 pounds a week. They don't come off like that though. I will have ZERO pounds lost and maybe even a gain of 1-3 pounds and then a drop of 10-12 pounds. Then again, another zero or 1 pound, and eventually 5 pounds in one week. I obviously have a weird cycle of weight loss and it seems to be working. Hang in there - don't quit or give up - I finally started ONLY recording my weight once a month on the first - I weigh more often but the ups and downs in between the first of one month and the first of the next month just don't matter - they simply ARE - my monthly weigh ins show the REAL progress.

Hello SkinnyPat,

I agree with the other posters suggestions. I did check your nutritional tracker and I would suggest you pay attention to getting more fiber. Kudos to you for tracking!!

I wish you success. emoticon

I'm so sorry you're getting so frustrated about it. Article after article talks about hitting plateaus and hanging tough, sticking to the programs, and being patient.

I'm not very patient. I take it you aren't either.

The first thing is: are you really tracking your food. People most often misjudge how much is crossing their lips. If you aren't using the food tracker, I encourage you to do so. It can be very eye opening.

2nd: are you measuring your food? Most people aren't accurate when trying to eyeball their portion sizes. You may be loading up on calories in this manner.

Have you taken a look at the chair based SP exercise videos? Maybe you can incorporate some of those moves while you're watching TV or whatever.

Good luck!

Any ideas on a jump start? It has been a month and only lost 1.5 lbs. I had four weeks with no gains but no losses either. I have a long way to go and need to get going. I feel eat healthy and exercise but evidently not enough exercise. I do the best I can as I am on oxygen and can't do strenuous exercise but I play music and dance, wear a pedometer and move all the time but I don't do a timed walk all the time. Everyone says be patient but when you have as much to lose as I do it is tough!
