Remember that you can also do any of the range of motion/ strengthening exercises given to you by your dr., nurse, or physical therapist. While these may not be super calorie burners, they will burn some calories and get you farther on your healing process. Keep it up!!

Hi there

I am watching what i eat everyday and i have cut back on the junk food. I feel great that i am losing the weight but i still feel it is coming off to fast. I am down to 212.9 lbs now and it feels so perfect. I can accually see my toes without bending over lol. I am doing everything right but i know that i have a long way to go. I am going to start tomorrow and use my weights to strengthen my upper body and my arms so that i can get around better on my crutches instead of using a wheel chair when i go shopping. I still cant walk without a limp since i cant straighten my leg yet. But it will be okay soon i hope.

You might try exercising your upper body to some of the FREE videos offered on Spark's CHAIR EXERCISE TEAM's YOU TUBE channel, accessed by clicking on their Logo on their team home page. You will find hundreds of movement ideas that don't use your legs, as well as others that use legs without leaving your chair or bearing weight. These can help you maintain much of your hard earned fitness level while you recouperate. You may also find these exercises helpful as you begin to put your new knee back into action, which as I recall, requires considerable work (my sis had her knees done). Everyone is welcome on this team, regardless of fitness level, permanent or temporary. God Bless your efforts!

Hello Susan,

At least 80% of weight management is all about nutrition. When you are sidelined from workouts, focus on eating clean unprocessed food in proper proportions. Stay in your suggested ranges and you are still in the game.

Focus on what you can do and take pride in every healthy choice you make. Little changes add up. Hope you heal smoothly and swiftly!!

I have been slacking off lately because I am unable to exercise because of my knee replacement and I want help to get back into the swing of things. I need some motivation to get back into the swing of things like fitness and exercising.

I know I need to do this on my own but I keep being told that I cant do what I use to and I want to pick up where I left off.
