After 7 years on Spark (not consistently), and over 25 years of trying (again not consistently), I finally made my goal weight in 2012. And.....for the first time ever, I've stayed within 4 pounds of this weight for nearly 9 months! emoticon

Starting to spark! I started in March and I am now two stone down and much stronger. Whilst I wasn't unhappy with my figure before, I am now downright proud of it.

I actually have usable muscles now! I can feel my biceps! I can carry more groceries from the car per trip. I can carry boxes of stuff.
I have been a weakling my whole life. Until this year, that is!

Telling myself it is time to make a change, and actually doing it. I've lost 13 pounds in 2 1/2 months and I'm proud of it. Only 65 more to go.

While I didn't quite make my original goal, I lost 42lbs in 9 months (gonna try to make it to 45 by the end of the month) and not only have I lost every single pound I gained in college, I'm now almost 20lbs lighter than I was when I graduated high school! I honestly cannot even remember the last time I was at this weight! Looking forward to what 2013 has in store!

After 25 years of saying "I only run when something's chasing me," I now run on purpose. Multiple times per week. And I like it! I signed up for my first 1/2 marathon in for April 2013!

This year I have lost weight, joined a gym, and worked hard to become fit and strong.

However, the moment that truly felt like a victory to me was the day I unsubscribed from the VIP mailing list at the Plus Size store I've been a member of for years. Nothing there fits me any more! Woohoo!

I would have to say my biggest victory of the year was to start taking ballroom dance lessons. My kids got me 2 private lessons. I could NOT dance. It took me awhile to even make the appointment. But I enjoyed that first lesson. The teacher said I should enroll in group classes to learn faster, so I did. I took six weeks by myself because my boyfriend didn't want to. (Football season you know!)
Then I asked him to go to a dance with me. He said he wouldn;t know how to dance. So I asked "How do you solve that problem?" He said "Probably by taking lessons"
So now we are both in lessons and I am tickled pink.
If you are in ballroom dance and look around the room everyone has a smile on their face!
