Sorry Becky, yes the range was 1250-1500. I am 133 pounds. Should I eat the minimum?

It depends. Is the information you entered into Sparkpeople accurate? Your ticker says that you are currently 288 pounds. And like Becky said there should be a range, SP doesn't just give one calorie number to reach.

Sparkpeople would not give you 1500....
It always gives a range.
Could your range have been 1200-1550??

SparkPeople surprised me at the beginning because it gave me more calories than I thought I needed (and at one point INCREASED my calorie intake), but I've found that's because my body actually does need between 1500-1850 to be happy and lose weight! At 5'3" and only 10 lbs to lose you miiiiight have to eat at the lower end of your calorie range, but you may also be surprised that you can eat a few more calories and still lose. Everyone's body works a little differently, it's just a matter of finding what works for you.

Hello everyone,

I have to lose a 10 pounds and I am hesitant between Weight Watchers and Spark People (who is free!). Although, when I saw my amount of daily calories, I was a little bit scared. 1500 calories per day for someone who is 5.3ft I find it a little high especially when I am sitting at a desk all day. Is Spark People working for you with the allowance it was given to you?
