I am not a runner but I am a brisk daily walker and road biker. I agree with the before and after contrasts and have found another interesting benefit to workouts. I do Lumosity (brain game) training and have found my after workout scores are consistently better than those before workout. Win-wins for workouts!

Running is awesome. I started about 4 years ago and am grateful for every day that I can run. It really is good for the body and soul.

Right now I'm only running to my dance class, so it's a measly .8 miles there and back again. On the way there it just feels great to be outside and moving. Then there is dance class, which involves my totally cool dance teacher pushing me and pushing me. So I usually leave exhausted and literally dripping sweat. I can wring out my clothes after this class, so the run home is a bit...sluggish. But then I get home and take a shower, and I feel on top of the world and the whole thing was totally worth it.

I love running too! I call exercising my "Happy pill". The only time i can remember when i didn't want to run ( i just wanted to quit) - when i had few drinks night before and i couldn't push myself. Unfortunately my running partner didn't agree with my attitude and made me run even longer distance. . Usually i am the one who keeps pushing her.

I'm the same way. I've been running for more than a year now, but I am still surprised at how much more energized and cheerful I am after a run. I get up at 5 or 5:30am to run and a lot of times, I haven't gotten to bed early enough, so when I wake up, I don't want to go out there. By the time I'm done, though, I feel awesome.
I tell myself and my runner friends that I am not always glad to go out and run, but I *am* always glad I *have* run afterwards.

I walked/ran 6.4km outside tonight. (The more I try running, the easier it gets, and I actually look forward to my runs now!)
Pre-run feeling: Sluggish, bloated, irritable, butt glued to sofa, craving cookies and milk tea. Post-run feeling: Refreshed, proud, LIGHTER, motivated, not craving those cookies anymore.
Plus, washing away all that sweat with a cold shower felt AMAZING.
