I have been doing REALLY good at watching what I eat AND going to the gym - and have been feeling amazing! I have been REALLY bad at getting on here to track it all though =/ I know I can do better, MUCH better. I have not weighed in and wont tomorrow because I got a little discouraged the last time. For me it is about the numbers, but it should be MORE about how I feel. I know I am doing good so I need to just stay on track.

Going to the gym 3 days a week now. Been getting up a little earlier in the mornings to get in some crunches and push ups. Hope everyone else is doing well too!

Feeling really good right now! Didn't give into the cake temptation yesterday - went to the gym - and weighed in this morning and am SO happy with the number! Unfortunately I woke up sick this morning, so hopefully I will rest today and keep on track! So my first weekly goal was not only met but surpassed! That alone is great motivation!!! Hope all you ladies are doing good and staying on track too!

My goals for the weekend are to continue to log my food eaten. Its always hardest on the weekends because I am not in front of a computer all day. Second, to make sure I get in a work out on Saturday - minimum of 30 minutes! Water! Water! Water! I CAN and WILL do this! =)

DAILY GOALS:
1. Log all Food Eaten. - MET!
2. Water! Water! Water! At least 6 glasses. - Need to drink more. Averaging about 4.
3. Add in Healthy Snacks. - MET!
4. No food after 8pm. - MET!
5. Write in this Journal Daily. - MET!

SHORT TERM (Weekly) GOALS: (one lb per week)
January:
*Should be 184 by 01/20/12= MET! (181)
*Should be 183 by 01/27/12=

Long Term Goal:
Lose 30lbs (should be 155lbs) by July 31st!

SO my current temtation... the most delicious looking chocolate cake I have pretty much ever seen. Someone brought it into our office this morning and everyone has already eaten some - they are all saying "have a peice its delicious!" Ugh. my weakness. And to top it off my desk is the central admin area so its ON MY COUNTER.

Yes it looks delish. Am I hungry? No. Do I need it? NO. So I am praying it is gone soon. I even threw a Halls in my mouth just to have a nasty flavor if I think about taking a little sliver. I pray this thing is gone soon becaues I DONT WANT ANY! So here is my accountability. If I take a slice I will have to admit it on here - and I DONT want to have to do that. Plus I pre-planned my meals and I don't have any extra calories for it. AND my last reason not to, because it will negate going to the gym this afternoon!

Who needs stinkin cake anyways? lol.

Hey Jessica! Thank you! I just got so tired of making the "no-time" excuse - if lunch time at work is all I can do - it's something! you know? better than nothing at all! Good luck to you as well!

well im gonna go for the free week trial to see if that gym is right for me and the best part is there are no contracts so i wouldnt be locked into it for 2 years. not that going to the gym for two years would hurt but who can afford it in this day and age? i am pretty busy with my kiddos but i still make time to play with them and give them the attention they need and crave as well as being able to do some working out. just keep up the good work.

Thank you PJiddy! Just do it, the hardest part is making the decision! I was sick yesterday over going, that initial walking in and doing it... its so important though to make the time for ourselves. I can't imagine how busy you are with TWO kiddos, but we need to try to invest time to take care of ourselves so we can take care of our families =) Let me know if you go! You can definitely do it!

Yesterday I went to the gym and it felt amazing! Absolutely amazing! I cannot wait to go back. Starting off I will go on Mon, Tue and Thur (those are the days I have an hour lunch). When I got home I did another 20 minutes or so of sit-ups and whatnot. Gotta get rid of this baby-belly, my "baby" is a year old! This belly has got to go! I cannot wait to get to the gym tomorrow!

Thank you, Slimmerdown12! WE can do it. The way I see it - I am the only one who is responsible for the weight I have gained over the years - I am the ONLY one who can do something about changing that. No one can do it for me. And it is worth the time and investment in myself to get back where I used to be. I want to be happy about myself again. I want to be healthier to set a good example for my son. Thank you so much for your supportive words!

Thank you! I love the ideas you pointed out. I know some weeks i will lose more and some less but its just an idea to keep me on track, if i lose two pounds this week and none next week I will still be "on track" to getting to my goal, you know?

As long as I am doing what I am supposed to, eating right and working out I wont let myself get too discouraged if the numbers don't drop as quickly as I would like.

I know the first time getting back to the gym will be hard - I WISH I didnt care so much what others are thinking, I am just typically a shy quiet person... but once I get into making it a habit I know I wont think twice about it.

Thank you again, I really appreciate all your comments and thoughts!

you and i are about the same size and have about the same goals. so, i can totally relate. the only advice that i can give you is you have to take one day at a time. and you are right. THIS IS FOR YOU! those people who have plenty of time to exercise have no idea what you are going through or have been through. i work six days a week, sometimes seven and at least 10 hours daily. i ballooned up and my blood pressure did too! i gained 30 pounds sitting in front of my computer and not moving for hours at a time. work, we all have it but we can slide some activity into the day and make new habits and time for us! you go to the gym, girl! go in there and give yourself, your body that hour it deserves to feel better. you will see results in how you feel, your mood and also will change the things you want to put in your body so that when you go to the gym at lunch you will get more out of the time you invest there! one day at a time....slip ups happen so just jump back in and keep going forward! good luck! you can do!

emoticon Take it one step at a time.
There are lots of resources on SP to help you along the way and many great people to encourage you.
Have fun at the gym. Don't let your concern about what others will think distract you from what you know you want and need to do.
Your goal is very reasonable and achievable. The only caution i might add is to plan to lose "an average: of one pound a week. When I started this journey I wanted to lose all the necessary weight sooner rather than later. My friend encouraged me to think of average weight loss instead of pounds per week and it really helped me stay focused and encouraged. Weeks I didn't lose we would talk about non-scale victories...clothes fitting better, having less trouble breathing when exercising, blood sugar being in normal range etc....
Enjoy the journey to a healthier you!

I feel like the best way to succeed is to have some kind of accountability. I hope by post my thoughts, feelings, goals, wishes, accomplishments, etc daily will help me to be persistent in making healthy, consistent changes in my life.

For too long I have used my busy schedule as an excuse of why I dont have time to exercise. How can I use that excuse when I have a FREE gym just minutes away from my job? Where is the excuse when I have an hour lunch break? That is plenty of time! Sure, its not the most convenient - but its a block of time that I can consistently get to the gym. I NEED TO GO. Today will be my first day. I hate how sick over it I am feeling. Why do I worry what people will think when I walk in? Afraid they will think "here comes another fat girl, with a resolution to lose weight. Lets see how long she lasts" Why do I care? Chances are no one will even notice me. Regardless, I NEED to do this for ME.

I will take any advice, motivation, words of wisdom, support along the way. And I thank you all in advanec who offer any =)

My goal is completely attainable. My goal is to lose 1lb per week through July which will get me to a weight I would be happy with and that is healthy for me. One pound a week, that is ALL.

In order to get there I will make healthier decisions with the food I eat. And my goal is to utilize the gym 3 days per week (if I cannot make it then I need to make it up at home with some kind of cardio - There are all the "on demand" work out videos - so again no excuse not to! I can manage a half our if I need to!)

SHORT TERM GOALS:
January:
*Should be 184 by 01/20/12=
*Should be 183 by 01/27/12=

Long Term Goal:
Lose 30lbs (should be 155lbs) by July 31st!
