To all the newbies and not so newbies: Stick to SparkPeople - it works! This is my 99th day of Spark and I'm happy to report that I've dropped 27 pounds. The first 25 pounds sort of melted away, BUT ... it took seven weeks of following the caloric intake recommendations, religiously charting my food, and walking 3 - 5 times a week (Winter and my right knee are so unpredictable.) to drop two more pounds. I hit the dreaded wall - but didn't give up! Frustrating? Yes! Does it work? Yes! Is it worth it? Absolutely! And for some extras: My body and spirit feel so much better; stairs aren't a challenge; my clothes don't fit; and "real" food tastes great!
I'm a 64 year old male who weighed 272 pounds this past July. I dropped 15 pounds before joining SparkPeople and my weight is now 230. According to the BMI chart, I'm now only slightly (that's "slightly") obese!
Keep on keepin' on - you're worth it!
