I see that you are a new member. Is it possible that you have been trying to do too much, too soon? This is often a cause for those pesky strains. That, and not warming up/cooling down properly.
On a good note, if you want to exercise you can, still. Try some upper body chair exercises. There are plenty that you can do.

Had muscles strains on both my claves since Good Friday. Have no idea how I strain them, since my last exercise was two days before the strain. Have been out from exercise for almost a weeks now. It is upsetting especially when I got my exercise momentum going. Calves are still recovering, and looks like another few days before I can get any exercise
