I was one of those who 'ate myself stupid' at the buffey line. The original post took me back in time to September 30, 2006..........the day I was hypnotied AND my first visit to a buffet after the hypnosis. Like the original poster, I knew it would be a true test. The difference? Instead of having a serving of everything, I had a TASTE of everything. I do eat a bit more than normal at a buffet, but a trip down the buffet line is no where NEAR the food orgy it was in the past. I am comfortably full when I am finished. It's all part of the life long plan: moderation and occasional indulgence.
way to go! I think the hardest thing for me is the Chinese food buffets! Good thing we only go once per year!

I just faced my challenge with the buffet. I drank lots of water, ate my salad first, then had a some plate of mostly veggie, and 1 chocolate covered strawberry for dessert. Which is a change from, pop, no salad, 3-4 plates full and lots of desserts! Funny thing is, I was happier that I was able to control this than eating everything in sight!

My family likes the Chinese buffett. I like the sushi. Only one item really has raw fish in it. I love those rolls and the wasabi sauce.
They also have the mongolian grill where we make our own plate.

Awesome work! -- I can make it through 1 buffet on occasion, making good choices, but I don't know if I could stick w/ it for all 3 meals! And I have learned about the "content" feeling when having eaten the right amount instead of overeating just because it is there.

You really have to discipline yourself with the buffet's . I like them because I get plenty of good things to eat and can resist the sweets and pasta's . I don't go often though because I prefer eating at home.

Ok, so this is my first post and it's one of celebration that I just had to share. You see I'm one of these people that loved the buffet (all you can eat) I always thought it was great value for money and I always got my money's worth. I would eat until I felt sick, bloated and uncomfortable. I would have a minimum of 2 piled high plates of mainly carbs and fried food, as well as pastries, cheeses, biscuits and 1 serve of fruit so that I coulld tell myself I had had a healthy option.
This weekend was our Xmas breakup at the Gold Coast Casino, which we go to every year and guess what? that's right, buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner and I have to say I knew this was going to be a huge test. I really surprised myself on how much my mentality had changed. I had 90% healthy options with a small taste of the foods I enjoyed. I had only one plate, and didn't even feel like I wanted more. My friends commented on my weight loss and told me how great I looked and my Husband told me how proud he was of me which really helped me stay on track.
I rewarded myself with a shopping spree and bought 2 new dresses which was 1 dress size smaller than when I last shopped 5 weeks ago. It's given me confidence to face the buffet line and know that I can pass up on filling my face until I am sick. I have also learnt to recognise when I have had enough to eat, you know that nice stage of contentment instead of sickness. Onwards and upwards from here.
