I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come! * Diet is a dirty word. Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate!

There are so many great resources here! I recommend starting with the nutrition/food tracker because that is the key element in weight loss for most people. Then, once you're comfortable with tracking your food on a daily basis, start exploring more areas of this site. I still find something new here almost every day. By tracking everything since May 2011 and using the other features here to keep myself focused, I lost 90 pounds and have maintained that loss for almost a year now. It takes a little bit of time, but it is sooooo worth it!

I will be 39 in the fall and joined SP last week and am happy to report I lost FIVE pounds the first week!!! Only 85 more to go :0)
My goal is to make a lifestyle change for myself, two kids, and husband. So together we began this journey last week with consistent changes in the foods we eat and are slowly increasing our activity. I do not use the "D" word or say I can't have something. I merely am choosing a different way of life. I still had ice cream last week and cake but it may only be a bite or small sliver not have the cake...lol
Hopefully we can get to our respective goals together!!!!
