I talked to the doctor's office this morning....had the nurse ask the doctor and she said take 1 tablet once a day.....so that clears that up.....

I agree that you might also want to check with the pharmacy to make sure the label wasn't misprinted. Also check with your Doc first thing tomorrow. In the meantime, I am not sure what to tell you to do until you can contact them

You might want to verify w/the dr. or at least w/the pharmacist to confirm what was on the prescription.

Only your doctor can clarify this.
As you plan...call your doctor.

This is a question for your doctor. Give them a call first thing. We can't answer that, and you should NOT listen to any advice you may receive that attempts to answer it. You are on a prescription medication, and any questions should be directed to the medical professional who prescribed it.

Hi,
I was told by my doctor to take Metformin once a day when i last saw her after my A1C came back good - it was 5.7. She also gave me a prescription for 500 mg. I still had some Metformin left so I started splitting them. Today, I went the the pharmacy to get my refill and took one tonight after dinner....it said on the bottle to take one tablet twice daily. It is 500 mg's, so I am wondering about this.

Am I supposed to take 2 a day from what the bottle says? Or one pill once a day? The 500 mg's are smaller and rounder compared to the 1000 mg's which were long. I am thinking of calling my doctor on Monday to see which is correct.....

Stephanie
