I started my low carb/high protein regimen on December 17th, and by December 24th, I had lost a total of 9 lbs! I dropped an additional pound, kept doing the right actions towards weight loss, but noticed my weight stagnant and/or gaining. Then, my period started! I've gone 19 months without it due to the fact that I was breastfeeding my baby for 9 months post delivery. I've read that menstruation can throw off anyone's diet, that a woman retain 5 lbs of water during this time, which is REALLY discouraging. However, I'm still following my regimen and just crossing my fingers that when menstruation ends, with it will disappear 5 lbs that I've been working so hard to lose over the past week.
