I did quite a bit of mall walking this past winter - I went on Saturday afternoons and treked two full trips up and down the mall. I had to reassure my mom that when I told her I was going to the mall it was not to buy anything, but just to walk somewhere other than the treadmill.

Yes but in the summers here in Florida when it's too hot to walk outside. emoticon

Our mall does this as well, and my mother in law will do it when she is not swamped at work. She had done it for a while and lost a bit of weight (15 pounds or more) without doing anything else! Of course, since she has stopped it seems to have crept back up.

I think it is a great way to get your walking in, if that is what you do to exercise.

When i used to live in the chicago area, the Westfield Mall would open at 8:00AM for mall walkers. I used to go on my days off. They even had a mall walkers meeting once a month.

I was walking early one morning and continued to get glares from other walkers. I realized that I was walking the wrong direction. Live and learn.

I think it is great exercise. the only thing I bring in with me is my music and my drivers license and keys. Can't buy anything if I don't have my money with me.

I used to mall walk on my lunch hour when I worked near a mall. The only drawback was wanting to stop and look at things (and buy them!)

If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up!

don't have a mall nearby; it sounds like such a great idea for cold weather and those that do - i love the idea some places open early just for walkers

I love walking in the mall, but don't do it often since I can never seem to get out of there without buying something!!

Our mall actually opens early for "walkers" before all of the stores are open

Do you like to walk inside the mall when it's raining outside?
