cucumber slices or some grated ginger make nice additives too.

interestingly enough, I prefer my water closer to room temp than cold, even on hot days

I find that I have cut down on the craving for sweetened drinks, and put some plan lemon juice in my water to give it a zip. If you keep a pitcher or water in the frig you can add a cut lemon to it for a thirst quencher on hot days!
