I love music and it definitely sets a tone for my workouts. If I want to go running or move super fast, I listen to up beat dance and pop music. If I want to take a leisurely stroll, I'll listen to country music.

Yes. Because each day is different I just pick a station on Pandora and see where it takes me.

Music gives one hell of a motivation. I like to swing my butt to the music when I do the elliptical. I know people look weird at me but the time goes by faster that way. My favorite songs (old ones) that still do the trick is:

- Michel Telo - Ai se tu pego
- 3OH!3 - My First Kiss
- Studio Killers - Ode To The Bouncer

very upbeat and especially when you are rowing or running!

Today it will be David Garrett again with his Rock Symphonies and his very fast style of playing the violin. emoticon

Absolutely! Depends on what I'm doing, and I also go through phases of what I prefer. For many months I could only run to Ludacris radio, and then for another while it was just Florence and the Machine and Mumford and Sons type music. Pitbull is good beat music for working out, too!

Yes it does and right now I have found that Bye, Bye, Bye by N'sync seems to move me along quite well. I generally have a mix of music on my iPod and sometimes get lost in the surrounding that Mother Nature provides me on my runs that I forget that I have music on.

Yes, I enjoy listening to music when I workout - I either listen to 80s music, broadway or one of the local morning radio shows (top 40)

"Does MUSIC boost your exercise and fitness? If so what kind?"

If I am doing exercises like hitting the heavy bag, doing hanging abs, and sometimes when riding the exercise bike, I often like upbeat, faster temple songs to keep me fired-up.

Examples:
...most rock and roll from the late 50's to the early 60's. (Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, etc.)
...rockabilly songs such as "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Be-bop-a-lula." And faster country western songs such as Williams' "Jambalaya" and "Kaw-Liga."
...more modern rock-n-roll such as the Stray Cats' "Rock this Town" and "Stray Cat Strut."
...up-temple country western songs like McGraw's "Indian Outlaw" and Tritt's "Girls Gone Wild."

In other words, I often like "fast" songs to keep me in the mood for exercising. However, at times I also love listening to blues, moody songs, ballads, etc.

Hi, you seem to be the only one here in this community to be motivated by music. I just canīt believe it that there are so few people who exercise (indoors) without music. I did some dancing today - this time with Boney M (Disco is also wonderful for exercise). and I must admit this fast rhythms make me move, dance much faster. Itīs amazing!!! Best wishes to you. emoticon

Yeah, especially, the awesome music of

David Garrett - Rock Symphonies
and fast classical music, rock and even some heavy metal.

When I dance, Davidīs music is a huge booster to me. I dance very fast and I enjoy it so much!!! emoticon
